  • The plant actively feeds on manganese through the roots in the form of Mn++, although it can also be absorbed as a chelate.
  • It is transformed inside the plant by xylem in the form of Mn++, with low mobility, and is stored as manganese oxide.

The most common symptoms of manganese deficiency in plants occur more frequently in calcareous soils, with poor aeration or high pH (soils typical of arid and semi-arid zones) or in spring, after the winter season.

Manganese deficiency usually manifests itself differently, depending on the plant species in question; However, in marijuana, the most generalized symptom is in the leaves and is called interveinal chlorosis.

This chlorosis occurs because chloroplasts are the most sensitive components in cells under conditions of manganese deficiency. For this reason, net photosynthesis and the amount of chlorophyll decrease, causing interveinal chlorosis in the plant.
