WHY DON’T YOUR MARIJUANA SEEDS GERMINATE
Do you have problems with the cannabis seed germination process? Are your marijuana seeds not germinating?
Read this article for a guide with all the possible solutions to your germination problems. By following our advice and avoiding different situations, you will start your crop off on the right foot.
If your seeds don’t open and sprout, the future of your crop hangs in the balance.
But in the event that you know the reason, why your feminized seed does not germinate, there may be a chance to save your crop.

HOW TO GERMINATE MARIJUANA SEEDS?
A seed is a future plant that is waiting for the right conditions to germinate, grow and prosper as another living being.
We are going to explain the ideal conditions and factors so that the marijuana seed can germinate as effectively as possible and be able to achieve the best results in your harvest.
The cannabis germination process depends on many factors. These are some of the most frequent:
POOR QUALITY SEEDS
You should research the seller of your seeds well before buying them. That it has good evaluations or that a friend has recommended that seed bank or growshop.
At Madamegrow we have a wide selection, our bank comes from the USA and you can buy Black Elephant feminized or autoflowering seeds, guaranteed and analyzed seeds, in our laboratory by our expert growers and producers.

We also have CBD seeds for medicinal use. If you want to start your crop in an optimal way, buy quality seeds.
IMPROPER STORAGE
Seeds are living organisms, just like food, they must be stored and preserved properly, since if they are not stored properly they have the possibility of degrading or they will not germinate.
To maintain the seeds in an optimal area you must: keep them out of the light in a dry place and where there are no extreme temperatures. The ideal place to store them is usually a dark closet.
HANDLING SEEDS DIRECTLY WITH YOUR HANDS
For the germination of cannabis, it is advisable not to place the seeds in the hole with your hands, as you can contaminate them with all kinds of pathogens, fungi and bacteria. Unfortunately, seeds and seedlings are especially vulnerable to these damaging pathogens.
To prevent your seed from sprouting, avoid touching it too much with your hands. We recommend the use of clean gloves and disinfected tweezers.
SEEDS BURIED TOO MUCH OR TOO SHORT
At the time of sowing, we must put the seed to a depth of 0.5-1 cm, covering them lightly with soil. It should not be buried too deep, since if they are buried too deep they will not be able to access enough oxygen and the humidity of the earth could cause them to rot.
If the opposite is the case, buried too close to the surface, they may dry out before germinating, or the seed will sprout but not be able to shed its husk.
DO NOT USE NEW OR STERILIZED SOIL AND POTS
One of the main factors that prevent seed germination is fungi. Old, reused soil that has not been sterilized may contain mold and other harmful organisms, such as bacteria and insects.
If this is the case, your marijuana seeds could sprout and die over time or not sprout at all. Your plants may twist and turn brown due to “fungal wilt.”
What should we do?
The solution is to sow the marijuana seeds only in sterilized soil mixtures, since they will not have these harmful microorganisms. You should also make sure the pot is clean, because they can contain mold or other pathogens.
TOO MUCH MOISTURE
If the soil is not good, the substrate does not drain well, warm water could accumulate and prevent the seed from acquiring oxygen.
Perlite is ideal for improving the drainage of your plant. Also, if you use a pot with holes in the bottom, it helps your plant’s drainage process.
LACK OF HUMIDITY
As we have said in the previous point, excess moisture is harmful, as is lack of moisture. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
DROWN MARIJUANA SEEDS
It is not a recommended method to germinate your seeds in a glass of warm water. It can be done, but there is a risk that the seed shells will drown if they spend too much time under water.
To avoid this problem, you can germinate your seeds directly in the ground.
LET THE SEEDS GERMINATE FOR A LONG TIME
As they germinate longer, they are exposed to light and air and may be damaged.
We must not let the primary root grow too much, because when transplanting it there may be an accident.
Also, the longer the primary root, the greater the risk of accident during transplantation. You have to pay attention and transplant it when the primary root is 1-2cm.

POOR QUALITY WATER
Tap water is good for adult plants, but be careful with seeds and small plants. Tap water contains chlorine, fluoride and salts that can harm the proper development of plants, and could even prevent germination.
Use bottled water to germinate your seeds.
TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH
Our small crop should not be exposed to high temperatures because the heat can completely dry out the soil. The best temperature for germination is 20-25°C.
TEMPERATURE TOO LOW
Likewise, temperatures that are too low can also cause problems, including preventing the germination of feminized seeds.
With the cold, plants are at risk of catching other diseases
What can you do about it?
If you’re growing outdoors, don’t bring the plants outside too soon; it is best to grow them indoors and let the seedlings grow for a few weeks before moving them outside.
EXCESS OF LIGHT
The seeds do not need light to germinate. In fact, too much light can reduce the chances of them sprouting.
When the seedlings have germinated from the ground if they need light.
PESTS, BIRDS, INSECTS…
Hemp seeds are very common in bird seed. But birds aren’t the only creatures that can eat your seeds.
Among other insects, ants like sprouted roots. Some methods to keep your seeds safe use bird nets, ant traps. Check your seeds frequently to detect possible infestations and act before they become a problem.

SOIL TOO COMPACT
The soil should not be too dense, because it can prevent the seeds from sprouting. Compact soil removes oxygen from the roots; and poor drainage increases the risk of disease.
GROUND TOO LOOSE
In the opposite case, if the soil is too loose (not very compact), the seed will be surrounded by a lot of air and therefore it will not be able to absorb moisture well.
LAND TOO RICH IN NUTRIENTS
This point is quite important. In the event that the soil contains too many nutrients, it can burn the plant. Seeds and seedlings do not need too many nutrients.
Many commercial soil mixes are too high in nutrients for germination, as they contain a level more suitable for mature marijuana plants.
CROWDED POTS
Once the seed has germinated, the roots of your plant will want enough space to grow, so try to use small pots of the appropriate size.
