Since this summer we have a new organic product made in our Vegetal BioPlant laboratory. It is about the pH reducer for marijuana plants, in this post we are going to talk about the advantages and problems it has when using it or not with our crop.

PH is the international measure used to determine the level of acidity or alkalinity of a solution. In our case, it is irrigation water with or without fertilizers for growing cannabis.

One thing we have to be clear about is that the ideal pH for the irrigation water of marijuana plants ranges between 5.5 and 6.5, the maximum can reach 7.

PROBLEMS BUT WE DON’T ADJUST THE PH OF OUR PLANT

We are going to explain the problems of not adjusting the pH of the water when watering cannabis crops.

The main problem if the pH is not adjusted before watering the marijuana, a kind of film is produced around the root, which prevents the plant from absorbing the nutrients properly.

This will cause a lack of nutrition in the plant and will prevent it from developing in a healthy and strong way, as well as a significant drop in defenses, which will make the cannabis plant more prone to catching fungi, bacteria, even pests and viral infections. .

This can cause our harvest to be completely lost or drastically diminished.

At Madame Grow we have prepared a guide so that you can control and regulate the pH of your irrigation.

ph reducer for marijuana plants

FEATURES REDUCER PH MADAME GROW

Madame Grow’s pH reducer, with a liquid composition, is 100% organic and raises the pH level in the water with just a few drops, thanks to the fact that it is super concentrated like all our products.

It is the perfect solution to maintain a correct pH level of the soil in your garden, guaranteeing an optimal assimilation of nutrients by the crops; achieve crops with higher quality, flavor and aroma and, at the same time, be able to quickly and effectively descale your irrigation systems

The formula of the pH corrector is based on potassium oxide (K20), which is used to raise the pH of the irrigation water in our crops. It also has 20% citric acid monohydrate.

Citric acid is a 100% biological pH reducer so it does not damage the beneficial microorganisms that inhabit soils and substrates, nor does it damage their bacterial flora or the fungi and bacteria that we apply during the harvest. Another very important function that it fulfills is that it can eliminate plugs that occur in irrigation systems.

In addition to serving to reduce the pH value of the irrigation solution, it acts as a stabilizer of the pH of the same, so you will not have to worry about later variations.

GUIDE TO CONTROL AND REGULATE PH

In this guide you will see which nutrients are no longer absorbed according to the pH, and what we need to keep the water always adjusted to an optimal pH, for marijuana plants.

TYPE OF LAND

Depending on the type of soil or substrate you use to cultivate, the ideal pH value can be higher or lower. You should check what value the pH supports in the characteristics of the earth.

ADJUST PH AFTER NUTRIENTS

Remember to adjust the pH after adding the nutrients to the solution and having adjusted the EC (electroconductivity) value, if necessary.

SHOCK TREATMENT AGAINST PLUGGING OF PIPES AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS

Madame Grow’s pH Reducer can also be used as a shock treatment against clogging pipes and irrigation systems. To do this, simply add 200 ml of product to 500 liters of water and put the solution into circulation.

BENEFITS OF THE PH REDUCER

We are going to list the different benefits of the pH reducer:

  • In addition to reducing the pH of the water, the best of all is that the plants will be healthier in general, both indoor and outdoor.Let’s say that it has double benefits on the one hand it balances the pH and on the other hand it makes it absorb better the nutrients.
  • It is used to adjust the acidity of the growing medium. The level of acidity is what determines at what speed the nutrients are assimilated and in what quantity they can be introduced into the interior of the plants. That is why controlling this parameter can mean a substantial increase in our harvests.
  • The one that is organic also provides a certain plus in the case of using it in fruit trees and vegetables.

HOW IS MADAME GROW’S PH REGULATOR APPLIED IN DIFFERENT GROWING MEDIA?

Depending on the growing medium, whether it is aqueous, soil or coconut, we will adjust slightly different levels, but roughly we will stay between 5.5 and 7.

In hydroponic and aeroponic systems or whose main medium is water, we will keep the pH level a little lower in the growth phase (between 5.5 and 6) than in the flowering phase (between 5.8 and 6.5) .

In soil, we must measure the pH of the substrate and then adjust the acidity of our nutrient mix depending on the soil, to maintain it, raise it or lower it as necessary. If the pH is very high in the soil, you have to put a lower pH than normal in the mixture to compensate and vice versa, if it is very low in the soil you have to put the mixture higher than normal.

In coconut fiber substrates, which is relatively simple, we will always keep the irrigation mix between 5.8 and 6.5 to obtain the best results. If you use a reactive pH meter, which does not give us a result as exact as electronic meters, we will try to maintain levels between approximately 6 and 7, which corresponds to the yellow color and the entire range to light green.

If the reagent indicates dark green it is that it is too high and we have to lower it a little, depending on the phase in which your plants are, if it is blue, a little more still.

If it is orange or red we will have to upload it.
