HELLO ALL OUR #MADAMEGROWERS!

In this new post we want to show you the main differences between marijuana and hashish.

If we want to make a brief definition of both concepts, it would be: Marijuana is the dried plant flowers (buds) without processing of the cannabis plant. On the other hand, hashish is the resin of the female marijuana plant. This brown substance is the resin of the buds that is separated from the cannabis plant through different means.

EFFECT OF HACHIS AND MARIJUANA

It has nothing to do if we compare the consumption of hashish with that of marijuana, they have totally different effects. The effects of hashish if it has been made correctly produces a stronger effect than the plant from which it comes. But this rule does not apply to all types of hash, as there are some poor quality forms that can contain large amounts of “filler” material. What does this mean? Well, some types of hashish contain sand, henna, plastic, oil or even animal hair or manure.

But this only happens in some cases where the type of hash is very bad.

This way of consuming cannabis became fashionable in some countries because local cannabis has a low concentration of cannabinoids or low concentrations of thc. So you would have to consume a large amount of this drug so that the effects of hashish can be noticed.

The levels of thc or psychoactive effect are usually influenced by the variety of cannabis that is consumed. The same happens with marijuana, the elements of thc are in the variety of the mother plant, although there is a subjective difference in the effect.

A lot of people consider that hashish has a more cerebral and clean effect, although the marijuana plant produces a more calming and relaxing effect on the user.

If we talk about another difference it is the taste. The taste of hashish is much earthier and less floral than that of the cannabis plant. It should be mentioned that the flavor depends on an optimal cultivation, the extraction method and the amount of vegetable matter in the hashish.

How is hashish made?

As we have mentioned before, hashish is the resin extracted from the cannabis plant. Usually a mechanical separation of the resin is done from the marijuana flowers. It is dried or sifted before shaping and pressing in plates or with the same hands, you rub the fresh plant so that the resin remains attached to the skin, to detach it later.

This dry screening method is the most common method that exists worldwide. The main producing countries that use this technique are Morocco and Lebanon, even Afghanistan, which together with Morocco are the largest producers in the world.

Other extraction techniques

In recent years, new techniques for extracting resin from the plant have been developed.

One of them is a chemical technique by which butane gas is used to extract the resin from the flowers. This type of extractions has reports of up to 90% of the psychoactive substance. Compared to other more traditional hash-making methods, with reports of only 15-40% thc level.

Another way of extraction, quite striking is the extraction with water and ice. The process consists of immersing the cannabis in ice water in order to freeze the trichomes that have a lot of resin, shaking them later so that they separate from the plant.

This extraction method is quite expensive since special equipment is needed for it.

In the event that you execute this technique, it is very clear how the water separates the trichomes and the rest of the plant material.

Is my hash quality good?

There are different methods of evaluating the quality of hashish. The factors you should look at to know if our hash is quality or not.

ColoUr

The hashish extracted by dry sieving must have different colors. The main one is brown with a little yellow or reddish color. In the case that it is not very pressed, the color should be more consistent, while in the case that it is very pressed it should have a darker color on the outside and lighter on the inside.

The hash that has been rubbed in should be a dark brown almost black color, and it should not be too green in color, as this would mean that it contains a lot of plant material inside.

Consistency

On the other hand, the sifted hashish should not be too dry, if it were your case; This must be because it was not well stored or because it had filling.

A quality hash should have a soft, crumbly consistency with a little oil, since it must be softened enough

The desired consistency for a lightly pressed, dry sifted hash is mushy, crumbly, and a little oily or sticky to the touch. Highly pressed, dry-sifted hash can be stickier and oily, and can be very hard, but will soften enough to be consumed if mild heat is applied.

Hand rubbed hash can vary greatly in consistency. Normally it should be dense and uniform, and not too sticky, as this can indicate the presence of added oils.

In contrast, some types of hand rubbed hashish are very sticky and can turn almost liquid when heated.

FlavoUr

It is one of the most important factors, it can vary greatly between the different types. Hash that is sifted tends to have a more earthy flavor than hashish that is rubbed by hand. The latter tends to have a more floral flavor.

However, this is not a general rule, since the taste of hashish depends largely on the variety of the cannabis plant and not so much on the technique of extracting the resin from the buds.

Bubble test

The bubble test is a pretty good method of identifying the quality of our hash. The process consists of splitting a piece of hashish and applying a clean flame (we use a butane lighter instead of a match).

Two options can pass:

– That the piece begins to bubble perceptibly under the flame and white smoke comes out. If this situation occurs we will know that the hash is of quality.

– In the event that the smoke produced is black and there are traces of soot in the hashish when the fire is removed, it lets us know that there may be polluting elements. And therefore that the hashish is not of quality.

Why don’t you try the whole process? From the marijuana seed, through cultivation and extraction, to the bubble test.

At Madamegrow we help you start farming. We have created the perfect kit for any novice grower, STARTER KIT. This kit consists of our 500 ml growth accelerator and sweet lolita, a pack of Thrycho killer and 5 CBD-rich seeds.
