Fruity Mayhem: fruit candy and floral perfume over a gassy base

Fruity Mayhem (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics brings together two lines prized for their aroma. On one side is Runtz, the Gelato and Zkittlez hybrid famous for its fruity candy profile; on the other, Permanent Marker, a strain with very dense flowers and an unmistakable scent somewhere between floral perfume, soap and gas. The result is an indica-dominant (70%) feminized strain of medium stature and fast flowering, with compact, resin-laden flowers.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it reaches 1-1.2 m, with a moderate stretch after the switch to flowering and firm side branches. It benefits from topping during growth and a SCROG net to open up the plant and share the light among all the tops. It yields 450-500 g/m² after 60-65 days of flowering. Its flowers are very compact, so it is worth removing some of the large fan leaves mid-flowering, keeping good air exchange and lowering humidity at the end. We recommend an airy substrate, a pH of 6.0-6.5 in soil and an activated carbon filter, as its perfume-and-gas scent is very noticeable.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it grows to 1.5-2 m and can produce up to 600 g per plant. Its big advantage is the late September harvest, ahead of the autumn rain and humidity, which makes it a good option for cooler or mountain climates too. Choose a sunny, well-ventilated spot and space the plants enough for air to move between their dense flowers.

Aroma and flavour

A layered aroma: a floral, almost perfumed note opens first and quickly brings freshly unwrapped soap to mind. Behind it comes candy sweetness and ripe, juicy fruit inherited from Runtz, all resting on a sharp gassy base that grows stronger in the final weeks.

Is it difficult to grow?
It has a medium difficulty level: it grows in an orderly way with little stretch, and what it asks for most is ventilation and low humidity at the end so its compact flowers ripen healthily.

How much indoor space does it need?
At 1-1.2 m tall it fits in 80x80 or 100x100 cm grow tents; in lower tents it is best to top it and switch it to flowering early to keep its stretch in check.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
