Emerald Boss (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics distils the essence of the OG family: it joins OG Kush, the backbone of much modern US West Coast genetics, with SFV OG Kush, an OG selection from California's San Fernando Valley known for its especially lively lemon note. It is a balanced hybrid (50% indica / 50% sativa) with firm stems and thick side branches, forming dense, resin-coated colas and an intense fuel, citrus and pine aroma.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it stretches moderately in the first weeks of flowering, so it pays to decide early how to train it. One or two toppings during growth and a SCROG net let you spread its side branches into an even canopy of colas. After 8-10 weeks of flowering it yields 450-500 g/m²; its colas swell a lot in the final stretch, so stakes help carry the weight. Defoliate moderately to improve airflow, keep humidity low in the final weeks and check the pH (6.0-6.5 in soil). Its fuel smell is very strong, so a carbon filter is a must.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it grows into a vigorous plant that can yield 450-800 g per plant, depending on the climate and the size of the pot or planting hole. Like any good OG, it prefers warm, dry Mediterranean-type climates with plenty of direct sun, and it is harvested in early October. Where autumn turns humid, choose a very well-ventilated spot and check the inside of the thickest colas during ripening.

Aroma and flavour

A textbook OG profile: the first hit is pungent, almost chemical fuel, which quickly gives way to bright lemon-peel citrus. Pine resin and an earthy base follow, and a touch of sweetness rounds things off at the end. A slow dry helps preserve that signature lemon note.
