Chimera: a dessert profile of cream, caramel and port wine

Chimera (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics is a selection that brings together two very different lines: White Truffle, with an indica base, dense dark flowers and a creamy, earthy background, and The Creature, more sativa in character, which adds vigour, fruity notes and heavy resin production. The result is a feminized, indica-dominant strain (60%) with a rather unusual pastry-like aroma, where cream and caramel blend with the deep touch of port wine.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it reaches up to 140 cm and stretches noticeably in the first weeks of flowering, so it is worth training it during growth: topping and LST open up the plant and spread the light across several tops of similar height. Its flowers are dense and gain a lot of weight at the end, so a SCROG net or stakes help keep the branches in place. It yields approx. 550 g/m² after 8-9 weeks of flowering. We recommend a high-quality airy substrate, regular pH control (6.0-6.5 in soil), thinning the inside of the plant to improve air circulation and an activated carbon filter to contain its aroma.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it grows up to 200 cm and can yield 800-1000 g per plant. It is harvested in late September, an advantage in areas where autumn arrives early, and it performs best in temperate, sunny climates with direct sunlight for much of the day. Plant it with enough room for air to flow between its branches and provide sturdy staking for the final weeks, when the flowers reach their maximum density.

Aroma and flavour

A rich, enveloping profile: rubbing the flowers first releases a creamy note, like whipped cream, which soon gives way to caramel. Underneath comes a deep, fruity hint reminiscent of port wine, and in the final weeks of flowering the whole bouquet becomes denser and sweeter.

Is it difficult to grow?
It has a medium difficulty level: its stretch at the start of flowering calls for some training, and its dense flowers like support and good ventilation towards the end. With that care it rewards you with a generous yield.

How much indoor space does it need?
With a height of up to 140 cm, it fits in 80x80 or 100x100 cm grow tents as long as the stretch is controlled with topping, LST or a SCROG net.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
