Gelato (Auto French Lines) by Black Elephant Genetics starts from the classic Gelato, born from Sunset Sherbet and Girl Scout Cookies, and crosses it back to a Girl Scout Cookies Auto, which brings autoflowering and reinforces its cookie character. The result is an indica-dominant (60%) autoflowering strain with 9-10 weeks of flowering, up to 700 g/m² indoors and a sweet, earthy profile reminiscent of freshly baked cookie dough.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it forms a leafy, short-noded plant of 80-100 cm that yields 500-700 g/m² after 9-10 weeks of flowering. Place it in its final pot from the start, as it does not take well to transplanting, and give it light feeding during the first weeks so as not to overload its roots. Its thick foliage benefits from gentle defoliation that lets light reach the lower branches; combined with early LST instead of topping, it achieves a more even canopy. A light substrate such as coco coir and a stable pH (6.0-6.5 in soil) complete the picture.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it reaches 80-160 cm and can give up to 350 g per plant. Choose a sunny, airy corner, in a large pot or in loose, well-drained soil. As it does not wait for the days to shorten before flowering, it allows several staggered sowings through the warm season, and its moderate size makes it easy to fit into gardens and terraces.

Aroma and flavour

Its profile revolves around cookies: a sweet base reminiscent of butter dough, earthy and slightly spicy notes inherited from Girl Scout Cookies and a fruity touch coming through from Sunset Sherbet. It gains body in the second half of flowering, so an activated carbon filter is a good idea indoors.

Should I defoliate it?
Light defoliation helps, as its foliage is thick and can shade the lower branches. Remove only a few large leaves and avoid heavy pruning: being autoflowering, it has little time to recover.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
