Sweet Thai: tropical fruit and chocolate with Thai roots

Sweet Thai (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics brings the character of the sativas of Thailand to a more manageable grow. Its mother, Super Thai, provides the slender build, narrow leaves and an exotic aromatic profile; its father, Early Skunk, adds more compact flowers, a tidier structure and a flowering period of 8-10 weeks, much shorter than that of a pure Thai. It is a sativa-dominant strain (80%) that smells of tropical fruit and citrus over an earthy base of wood and chocolate.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors is where it shines: the Early Skunk influence keeps it below 150 cm and gives it a firm main stem with well-spaced side branches. You can grow it topped into several main colas or in a SCROG, and it will yield 450-500 g/m² after 8-10 weeks of flowering. It prefers a spongy substrate and spaced-out watering, with pH between 6.0 and 6.5 in soil. Towards the end of flowering lower the room humidity a little, keep good airflow between the flowers and have an activated carbon filter ready, as its fruity aroma is intense.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it regains its Thai side: it grows to 1.5-2.5 m and can yield up to 550 g per plant, but it ripens very late, in late November or December. For that reason we only recommend it outdoors in areas with very mild, dry winters; elsewhere, a well-ventilated greenhouse or an indoor grow is the safer choice. If you plant it outside, pick the sunniest spot on the plot and protect the plant from night-time cold and late-season rain.

Aroma and flavour

Its profile blends the exotic with the indulgent: when the flowers are opened, ripe tropical fruit and a bright citrus touch stand out, a legacy of Thailand. Little by little a darker, warmer background appears, with earthy notes, wood and a hint of chocolate that rounds off the whole and makes it very recognisable.
