Chemdawg: the foundational genetics of the fuel aroma

Chemdawg (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics is based on Chem 91, the original elite clone of one of the most influential families in modern genetics, at the root of many of the fuel and diesel profiles that are a reference today. It keeps its intense, chemical character, softened by notes of lemon, pineapple and tropical fruit. The result is a feminized hybrid with a slight indica dominance (60%): vigorous, with resinous flowers and a great yield potential both indoors and outdoors.

Indoor cultivation

Develops an 80-120 cm plant that stretches strongly after the switch to flowering, with branches that are rather thin for the weight of its flowers, so it performs especially well in a SCROG, with a net to guide the branches and spread the light. In small spaces it also works in a SOG, with short plants and a single main flower. It yields 400-600 g/m² after 65-70 days of flowering. For maximum results we recommend a high-quality airy substrate, regular pH control (6.0-6.5 in soil), low humidity and good ventilation in the final weeks, plus an activated carbon filter, essential to keep its aroma in check.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it becomes a large plant: it can reach up to 3 m in height and yield up to 2 kg per plant. It performs best in warm, dry Mediterranean-type climates with plenty of sunshine, and also does very well in a greenhouse. Give it room and sturdy staking to support its branches; in areas with humid autumns, choose a well-ventilated spot and check the inside of the flowers during ripening.

Aroma and flavour

A powerful, highly recognisable profile: the fuel and chemical note dominates from the start, joined by lemon and sour citrus. Underneath come sweet hints of pineapple and tropical fruit, over a pine base that gains depth in the final weeks of flowering.

Is it difficult to grow?
It has a medium difficulty level: its stretch in flowering calls for some training, and it likes low humidity and good ventilation towards the end. With that care it is a very productive strain.

How much indoor space does it need?
With a final height of 80-120 cm, it fits in standard 80x80 or 100x100 cm grow tents; a SCROG net helps control the stretch and spread the light.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
