Golden Trichome: the savoury GMO Cookies profile with a sweet finish

Golden Trichome (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics comes from the cross GMO Cookies x Han Solo and brings two opposite aromatic sides together in a single plant. From GMO Cookies it inherits its famous savoury profile of garlic, onion and diesel, over which notes of coffee and a sweet, fruity background emerge to round off the whole. It is a perfectly balanced feminized hybrid (50% indica / 50% sativa), with firm branches and compact flowers that become coated in a thick layer of resin as flowering progresses.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it reaches 1-1.60 m, so it pays to decide early how to train it. Its sativa side shows in a clear stretch during the first weeks of flowering: early topping and a SCROG net let you spread the branches and keep all the tops at the same height under the light. With that approach it yields 500 g/m² after 8-9 weeks of flowering. Its firm branches carry the weight well, but in the final stretch it helps to thin out the large central leaves and keep the air moving with moderate humidity. Use an airy substrate, check the pH (6.0-6.5 in soil) and fit an activated carbon filter from the start: the garlic and diesel smell comes through strongly by mid-flowering.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it can grow up to 2 m tall and yield up to 600 g per plant. It is harvested in mid-October, so it performs best in temperate, sunny areas with dry autumns, where the flowers can finish ripening without rain. Choose an open, well-ventilated spot, stake the main branches before the bulking phase and check the inside of the thickest flowers in the last weeks. If discretion matters, bear in mind that its aroma spreads easily around the garden.

Aroma and flavour

A savoury profile that stands out from the usual: during flowering a penetrating smell of garlic and onion dominates, wrapped in a diesel background. After drying, grinding the flowers releases coffee and a fruity sweetness that balances the intensity and leaves a long, flavourful finish.

Is it difficult to grow?
It has a medium difficulty level: it grows vigorously and handles topping well, but its stretch in flowering calls for planning the space, and its dense flowers need good ventilation at the end.

Does it smell a lot while growing?
Yes. Its garlic, onion and diesel profile is very intense from mid-flowering, so indoors we recommend a properly sized activated carbon filter.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
