Polar Mirage: a big yield in a small space, with a glue and berry aroma

Few strains make as much of a small space as Polar Mirage (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics. It starts from Sugarcane, in its Dip'N Stix selection, a line of rock-hard, very resinous flowers, and crosses it with Chimera #3, a phenotype from the Chimera family related to White Truffle, with strong side branches and vigorous growth. It is a 50% indica / 50% sativa feminized hybrid that stays at up to 1.20 m and, even so, ranks among the most productive strains in the German Fem Line.

Indoor cultivation

With a height of up to 1.20 m and a moderate stretch, Polar Mirage suits both a grow with many small plants and a few plants trained with LST. Its side branches are strong and carry very compact flowers, so the 550-700 g/m² yield after 8-9 weeks of flowering depends on light reaching all of them: level the canopy early and remove the small lower shoots left in the shade. We recommend an airy substrate, a pH of 6.0-6.5 in soil, good ventilation between plants and low humidity in the final weeks, plus an activated carbon filter for its glue smell.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it keeps its compact habit, with a height of up to 1.20 m, and performs best when given rich, loose, well-draining soil and direct sun for most of the day. It is harvested in early October, before autumn turns damp. Thanks to its size, it is a good choice for balconies, terraces and gardens where the plant should not stand out.

Aroma and flavour

An aroma off the beaten track: open the jar and a sharp, chemical note of glue takes over the room. Once it settles, sweet berries appear, juicy and slightly tart, and underneath lies a deep, earthy base of white truffle that gives the whole an elegant, lingering finish.
