Gorilla Wine (German Fem Line) by Black Elephant Genetics brings together three pillars of indica genetics in a single cross: the mountain sturdiness of Afghani, the fruity character and dark hues of Mendocino Purps, a northern California classic, and the productive stability of Skunk #1. The result is an almost fully indica-dominant (90%) feminized strain, short and wide, with broad leaves and short internodes, that fills its branches with rounded, dense and very resinous flowers carrying a sweet caramel and forest fruit aroma.

Indoor cultivation

Indoors it stays at 60-100 cm, with a compact bushy structure and short, strong side branches. It is a simple, rewarding plant that also suits beginners. LST helps open up the canopy and even out the tops, and a light topping is all it needs if you want more main branches. After 7-9 weeks of flowering it yields 450-500 g/m². Its flowers are very dense, so thin out the inner leaves, keep good ventilation and lower the humidity in the final stretch; the ideal pH is 6.0-6.5 in soil. Its smell is strong from mid-flowering onwards, so a carbon filter is highly recommended.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it reaches 160-190 cm and can yield 500-600 g per plant. It adapts well to mild, sunny climates, and its fast flowering means it can be harvested in mid-September, a clear advantage where autumn arrives early. Cool late-summer nights can darken its flowers and bring out violet tones inherited from Mendocino Purps. Place it in an open, airy spot so its compact flowers ripen without excess moisture.

A sweet, rounded profile: caramel comes first, almost like candy, followed by ripe forest fruits. Underneath lies the classic skunk base, pungent and musky, balanced by earthy notes of damp soil. After curing, the sweetness takes centre stage and the whole bouquet feels full and lasting.
