Big Elephant: our fast-flowering house genetics

Big Elephant by Black Elephant Genetics is one of our own house genetics, born from two classics: White Widow, famous for its abundant resin, and Critical, known for its productivity. It was selected to deliver what growers value most: an easy-to-handle plant, a short cycle and a generous yield. It is a feminized, indica-dominant (65%) strain with 35% sativa and a compact, well-branched structure. It completes flowering in around 55 days and develops dense flowers with a herbal, earthy and citrus aroma.

Indoor cultivation

Develops a 60-100 cm plant with a compact, well-branched indica structure that stretches moderately when it switches to flowering. It yields 450-550 g/m² after around 55 days of flowering. It adapts well both to setups with many small plants and to a SCROG net that spreads the light across its branches. For maximum results we recommend a high-quality airy substrate, regular pH control (6.0-6.5 in soil), good ventilation in the final weeks, when the flowers gain density, and an activated carbon filter.

Outdoor cultivation

Outdoors it can yield between 800 and 1000 g per plant. Plant it in firm, well-drained ground or in large pots, ideally light-coloured so the roots do not overheat, in a spot that gets direct sun for much of the day. Its dense flowers appreciate space between plants: in areas with humid autumns, keep good airflow between branches during ripening.

Aroma and flavour

A fresh, natural profile: herbal notes open the aroma over a deep, earthy base, brightened by a citrus touch that grows stronger in the final weeks of flowering. A clean, balanced flavour, true to its indica character.

How much indoor space does it need?
With a final height of 60-100 cm, it fits well in standard 80x80 or 100x100 cm grow tents; a SCROG net helps spread the light and support its flowers.

Is it suitable if I am new to growing?
Yes. Its compact structure and short flowering make it very rewarding. With stable conditions, moderate watering and good ventilation during flowering you will get good results from your very first harvest.

How should I store them until sowing?
In a cool, dry and dark place, ideally in the fridge inside an airtight container. This preserves their germination power for a long time.
